Privacy Policy
This explains what we collect, why, who else can see it, and how to get it deleted. The short version: we collect what you type in, what your imports contain, and basic usage analytics. We do not sell your information, and we do not use your sales records for anything except showing you your own numbers.

1. Who we are
Matthew Viereck operates FlipTracker. For privacy questions, contact contact@fliptrackerapp.com.
2. What we collect
We collect:
- Account information โ your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. Authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication.
- Item and business data โ everything you record about inventory, costs, sources, listings, sales, fees, expenses and dates, and any photographs you upload.
- Imported data โ the contents of any sales report you upload.
- Subscription information โ your plan and subscription status. Payment is processed by Stripe; we receive confirmation of a subscription but not your full card number.
- Usage analytics โ pages viewed, features used, and events such as signing up or adding an item, collected through Google Analytics for Firebase. This includes device and approximate location information derived from your IP address, and uses cookies or similar identifiers.
3. How we use it
We use the information above to:
- provide the Service โ store your records and calculate your profit, fees and inventory position;
- operate subscriptions and process payments;
- understand how the Service is used, in aggregate, so we can fix and improve it; and
- communicate with you about your account, and about the Service where you have not opted out.
4. What we don't do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We do not use your sales records to build market statistics, price estimates, models or any other product โ for us or for anyone else.
Your item and sales data is used to show you your own figures, and for nothing else. If that ever changes we will ask your permission first, in clear terms, and you will be free to decline and carry on using the Service.
The usage analytics in section 2 are a separate and much narrower thing: counts of how many people visited a page or used a feature, used to understand whether the product works. They do not include your item or sales records.
5. Legal bases (for users in the UK and EEA)
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you signed up for); legitimate interests (to secure, analyse and improve the Service); consent (for analytics cookies where consent is required); and legal obligation (for records we are required to keep).
Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
6. Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how people find and use FlipTracker. It sets cookies or similar identifiers and reports aggregate usage to us.
We use this to answer questions like how many people reach the site and where they stop โ not to build advertising profiles. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
You can block these through your browser settings or an extension. The Service works normally with analytics blocked.
7. Who else processes your information
We use a small number of service providers, each of which processes data on our behalf:
- Google (Firebase) โ authentication, database, file storage, hosting and analytics.
- Stripe โ subscription payments and billing.
8. How long we keep things
We keep your account and item data for as long as your account is open. If you delete an item it is removed from the Service immediately, and if you close your account we delete your account data within 30 days.
Encrypted backups may retain deleted content for up to a further 90 days before being overwritten in the ordinary course.
We keep billing records for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
9. Deleting your account and your data
You can delete individual items at any time from within the Service. To close your account and have your data deleted, email contact@fliptrackerapp.com from your account address and we will action it within 30 days.
When your data is deleted it is genuinely gone, subject only to the backup window in section 8. We do not retain derived copies, summaries or statistics of it.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to receive a copy in a portable format, to object to or restrict certain processing, and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
If you are a California resident, the CCPA and CPRA give you rights to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, so there is nothing to opt out of, but the other rights apply and we will not treat you differently for using them.
To exercise any right, email contact@fliptrackerapp.com from your account address. We may need to verify your identity before acting.
11. Children
FlipTracker is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, and stored on Google Cloud infrastructure with access restricted to the account that created it. Payment card details never reach our systems.
No service can promise perfect security. If a breach affects your personal information we will notify you and any regulator as the law requires.
13. Where your information is stored
The Service is hosted in the United States. If you use it from elsewhere, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection rules than your own country.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes are versioned alongside the Terms of Service, published here, and presented to you for acceptance the next time you use the Service.
