How Whatnot fees work
Whatnot charges on item price + the buyer's checkout total. 8% commission plus 2.9% + $0.30 payment processing.
- The 8% commission is on your item's final sale price only, but the 2.9% + $0.30 processing fee is charged on the buyer's whole checkout total — including their shipping and sales tax — so real fees run slightly higher than shown here.
- Category exceptions: Coins & Money and wholesale Pallets pay 4% commission, and in select categories the portion of a sale above $1,500 currently carries 0% commission (a limited-time promotion).
- Fees are applied per checkout transaction, so several small auction wins from one buyer are each charged the $0.30 fixed fee even if they ship as one bundle.
